CARDIAC REHABILITATION

In Canada, there are over 75,000 deaths annually due to cardio vascular disease, many of them being premature. One preventative skill that should be learned by all care providers and non care providers is CPR. CPR is performed when a individuals heart and lungs have stopped working.

In the last 4 years, OYHC CPR instructors are acknowledged as the leaders in emergency cardiac care education, using the guidelines set by the Heart and Stroke foundation of Canada, developing educational tools and programs for care providers. Our extensive experience in emergency medicine allows for courses to be designed to our clients needs as well provides a realistic, logical and simplistic method for saving lives.  At OYHC, all levels of CPR are taught:

1. ADULT - greater than eight years of age or puberty

2. CHILD  - one to eight years

3. INFANT-less than one year old

 Combination courses offered:

1. ADULT CPR plus Automated External Defibrillation (AED)

1. FIRST AID plus CPR (All levels)

 We use only Laerdal mannequins to maximize learning and minimize the spread of infection. All certifications are provided from the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Quebec.

 
Factoid
 
Approximately 5% of all Quebecers have taken the CPR course. This is a low percentage given that heart disease accounts for a 3rd of all death in Quebec..
