First Aid 

First aid is the act of giving emergency help  to an injured or suddenly ill person using readily available materials.

First aid tries to preserve life, prevent the illness or injury of becoming worse and promote recovery.

In this course you will learn techniques set by the guidelines of the Heart and stroke Foundation for:

A. Being Safe and prepared 

B. Emergency scene management

C. Choking 

D. Breathing Emergencies (CPR)

E. Common Lifting Techniques and recovery   position

F. Wounds and Bleeding

G. Poison, Bites and Stings

H. Environmental illnesses and injuries

I. Common medical emergencies

This course is mainly theoretical. Certification will be given upon successful completion from the Heart and Stroke Foundation.. 

Participants will follow several steps and exercise to help them develop and create healthy choices and positive lifestyle changes.

 
Factoid
 It is important to wedge a pregnant ladies right side up to allow for better Venous return to the heart during the second stage of labor.
