MUSADO ZEN: OYHC MARTIAL ARTS
YORUKO MUSADO ZEN is a
superior combative
art and self-defence system created by Donald
Oxford York, 5th Dan Black Belt. Yoruko is Japanese
translation of the founders last name. It translates as the
“ Hero who destroyed a fortress with the Bow”.
Yoruko style integrates both soft and hard forms of Budo
(martial arts). York’s aim is to bring out the warrior
spirit within (Musado). As well introducing the
students to a new way of life or path (Zen).
MUSADO ZEN brings balance between the
traditional and the non- traditional fighting arts.
This makes for a very dynamic, effective and
efficient system of unarmed as well as armed
combat. The traditional forms of Budo taught include:
1. Karatedo
2. Judo
3. Ju-Jitsu
4. Kung-Fu Techniques
5.Taewondo Techniques
6. Kobudo (weaponry)
Non-traditional arts include:
1. Western Boxing
2. Close Quarter Combat
3. Street Defense
Thus, MUSADO ZEN is a system of fighting
and mental preparation that was used by ancient
martial artists and adapted techniques to modern day.
Training at MUSADO ZEN dojo will lead to developing
the inner warrior spirit or Bushido. We have programs for family , children as
young as 5 years old as well as specialized programs in wellness and forms for
the elderly.
